Acceptable Use Policy


Before using any I.C.T equipment provided by the Virtual College or as part of any Virtual College activity students must agree to our acceptable use policy. A basic outline of the policy is provided below, and the full policy document can be downloaded here.



  • You must not try to access any information which you are not permitted to access.
  • You must keep your password secret - you could be in trouble if someone else misuses it.
  • You must not communicate with people on the internet without explicit approval from the Virtual College.
  • Permission is needed to load new hardware or software.
  • Don't introduce, or risk introducing, viruses or anything similar.
  • Avoid interfering with other people or their data or software (this includes hacking, et cetera).
  • You must not send or view anything likely to offend others (e.g. pornographic, racist or insulting material).
  • The Virtual College will not be responsible for any loss caused by your use of the computing facilities.
