Home school agreement

In order to establish a positive working relationship, we ask that Virtual College tutors, parents/carers, and students abide by the following:

Tutors:

• We will provide up to 5 hours tuition each week during term-time and inform students if a session has to be rescheduled.
• We will provide students with a laptop for independent learning after a period of at least one month of successful tuition.
• We will make arrangements for secure internet access and use.
• We will work with the student to establish an individual learning plan, which will be reviewed with both parents/carers and students on a regular basis.
• We will negotiate a personal learning agreement with each student.

Parent/Carer:

• I will provide a space in my home which is an appropriate working environment for the tutor to work with my child.
• I will support my child in meeting his/her tutor for up to five hours tuition per week.
• I will let the tutor know of any concerns or difficulties which might affect child's ability to learn.
• I will endeavour to contact the tutor if my child is ill and unable to attend their tutoring session.

Student:

• I will meet my tutor for all the learning sessions we agree on.
• I will let my tutor know if I am having difficulties.
• I will take good care of the laptop and any other equipment loaned to me.
• I will not take my laptop out of the house or lend it to anyone else.
• I will make a personal learning agreement with my tutor.
