Projects

Each year students at the Virtual College are given the opportunity to work on an exciting project. Previous projects have included:

Birmingham Squared Video Project

In association with Connexions and Fierce Earth

With the help of Fierce Earth (a Birmingham based company specialising in contemporary arts production), Virtual College students created movies based on short stories they had written. The final project was shown at the UGC cinema in Birmingham.

Creative Writing Project

In association with the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and Wanjiku Nyachae

The Virtual College worked with the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and Wanjiku Nyachae (an independant author) in order to teach students the art of creative writing.

Digital Photography Project

In association with the Arts Council - England

Virtual College students learned the basics of digital photography and image editing (using Adobe Photoshop). This project ended with an outstanding exhibition at Gallery 37 in Island House, Birmingham.
